Quarkonium measurements in nucleus-nucleus collisions with ALICE

چکیده

Heavy quarks are produced in the early stages of nucleus-nucleus collisions and can therefore provide important insight into Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP). Quarkonia proposed as crucial probes to study QGP. The extent medium modification for heavy-quark quarkonium production heavy-ion is measured terms a nuclear factor $R_{\rm AA}$, defined yield divided by relative cross section pp scaled overlap function. A possible path-length dependent dissociation, well contribution (re-)generation quarkonia from heavy medium, would lead an azimuthal anisotropy reaction plane. In this contribution, recent ALICE measurements Pb-Pb at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 5.02 TeV will be discussed both mid- forward rapidity. dependence AA}$ on centrality $p_{\rm T}$ J/$\psi$, $\Upsilon$(1S), $\Upsilon$(2S), J/$\psi$ elliptic flow $v_{2}$ shown. experimental data current theoretical model calculations also discussed.

Photoproduction of quarkonium in proton-proton and nucleus-nucleus collisions.

We discuss the photoproduction of Upsilon and J/psi at high energy pp, pp, and heavy ion colliders. We predict large rates in pp interactions at the Fermilab Tevatron and in pp and heavy ion interactions at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. The J/psi is also produced copiously at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. These reactions can be used to study the gluon distribution in protons and heavy ...

Heavy-flavour and quarkonium measurements in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV with ALICE

We report on the latest results on heavy-flavour and J/ψ production at both midrapidity and forward rapidity, in Pb–Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV, measured with the ALICE experiment at the LHC. We present measurements of the nuclear modification factor for open heavy-flavours and J/ψ and compare these results to model predictions. Preliminary results on the elliptic flow of D mesons and J/ψ...

Anisotropy in High Energy Nucleus - Nucleus Collisions

The predictions of event anisotropy parameters from transport model RQMD are compared with the recent experimental measurements for 158A GeV Pb+Pb collisions. Using the same model, we study the time evolution of event anisotropy at 2A GeV and 158A GeV for several colliding systems. For the first time, both momentum and configuration space information are studied using the Fourier analysis of th...

Reconstructing azimuthal distributions in nucleus–nucleus collisions

Azimuthal distributions of particles produced in nucleus-nucleus collisions are measured with respect to an estimated reaction plane which, because of finite multiplicity fluctuations, differs in general from the true reaction plane. It follows that the measured distributions do not coincide with the true ones. I propose a general method of reconstructing the Fourier coefficients of the true az...

Subthreshold antiproton production in nucleus-nucleus collisions.

Antiproton production from the secondary process pp~ pp is studied for nucleus-nucleus collisions at energies which are below the threshold for its production from the nucleon-nucleon reaction in the free space. In an expanding fireball model, we determine the p abundance from the fusion of pions and find that for collisions at 2. 1 GeV/nucleon the antiproton to negative pion ratio is = 5.5&10 ...
